Wilfried Zaha Insists on Staying at Crystal Palace Amidst Interest from Mourinho – Viera Claims

Following the Zaha transfer links to Roma, Crystal Palace coach, Patrick Viera has come out to clear the air about the forward being content with the club so far.

In a statement released by the Coach, he expressed confidence in his topman hanging on despite edging close to the final year of his contract.

"It's just a report I think," Vieira said ahead of Friday's friendly against Liverpool in Singapore. "We are in a period where there is a lot of speculation regarding players.

"What is really important for me and the football club is that Wilfried Zaha came back on time and he is working well to have a good season.

"What goes on in the papers, it is difficult for us to control. What I know is that he is happy in our football club and he is looking forward to the new season at our football club."

Zaha's Links with Topflight Clubs

The Ivory Coast international recorded his best League campaign for the club since joining in 2014, after he represented 14 goals and one assist in 33 EPL games

Following his impressive campaign last season, the prolific striker sparked interest from top-flight teams like Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham, Arsenal, Everton and Roma.

The links to Roma seemed to have been talking about the more considering Zaha fits everything he looks so much like Mourinho's ideal player.

The Portuguese who is the first coach to be clinching the Europa Conference League would be taking his team to the Europa League next season.

In that light, he is said to be looking for reinforcements to give his team an edge for what lies ahead and Zaha happens to fit right into the plans.

Zaha not travelling on the pre-season tour of Australia and Singapore has sparked concerns about whether he would be willing to stay back at Selhurst Park.

Regardless, Viera seems to be rather confident that there is no cause for concern as he expects the Ivorian to kick off with the team on their first Matchday on August 5th.

Zaha is yet to say anything revolving around the transfer links and it is expected that he is likely to sign a new contract with the club as they are eager to still have him around.
