Serge Gnabry Signs New Contract with Bayern Munich Amidst Interests from Chelsea and Arsenal

Recent reports has revealed Gnabry making a huge decision in signing for a contract extension with the Bundesliga champions, thereby shunning interests from Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Former Arsenal winger was strongly linked with Chelsea in the current transfer window as the club is looking to add more reinforcements to their attack to give them a better chance next season.

However, as it has been the case with Raphinha, Chelsea loses yet again on a bid for yet another interest for an attacker in Gnabry.

Regardless, the Blues are said to have had a quite a satisfactory week in the transfer window which has seen them clinching a centre-back, Kalidou Koulibaly for £33 million and Raheem Sterling for £47.5 million.

While Chelsea were making plans for Gnabry, they also had an eye out for AC Milan's Rafael Laeo. The 23 year old was said to be influential in helping AC Milan win the Serie A in a time where it seemed unlikely.

The Serie A champions are said to be securing their man by setting a release clause on him for £127 million. This would make it practically impossible for anyone to come for him.

On the other hand, Arsenal were also reported to be nursing the idea of a possible return of Gnabry to the Emirates.

However, that seemed rather like a tall dream as it would be rare for a player currently playing in the Champions League to descend to the point where he wouldn't be playing in the tourney.

Chelsea to Refocus on Signing more Defenders

With Chelsea successfully signing one defender, leaving two spots in the backline needing to be filled, the Blues are said to prioritize that over signing more forwards.

This was confirmed by the Coach, Thomas Tuchel, who was quoted saying, "I would not rule it out [signing another striker] but right now it is not the priority. The priority right now is defence, it's not a secret. From there we need to see what's possible," he reaffirmed.

Chelsea were reported to have made a move on Manchester City's Nathan Ake which didn't make any headway, and are said to refocus plans on sealing negotiations with Jules Kounde.
